There are two ways to live. The first is to glide along and let things happen, only reacting. The second is to be an active participant in your own life—making choices and decisions, chasing dreams. To live your most fulfilled life, and enjoy it, you must live every day with intent and purpose. It takes courage to live intentionally, because it might mean making unpopular decisions, or decisions that are contrary to conventional wisdom. The point in living intentionally is to create the life you want, rather than just reacting to things that happen to you.

The fear of failure has stopped many would be successful people dead in their tracks. The interesting part is nothing physically stopped them. It was their perception of the percieved consequences of failure that caused them to stop. Let's evaulate this situation. Fear, caused someone to stop pursuing their own goals and aspirations? It's time to put this into a real perspective. |

Focus has and always will be a large part of achieving any goal. It is a vital factor in achieving success, because without it you are likely to end up very, very far from your intended destination. So I'd like to offer a new perspective on what focus really is. |

I am an extremely goal-oriented person. I set goals on a daily basis, both big and small. They train me to stay focused and actually acomplish things. After looking at my progress from setting daily goals, I'll always set goals from this day forward. With every goal I set, I use the SMART EDISON goal setting technique, developed by Michael Gelb (author of Innovate Like Edison: The Success System of America's Greatest Inventor) It is a two part acroynm. |
