I use "affirmations" everyday, but I wouldn't really call them affirmations. To me, affirmation is a weak word. It just doesn't hit me hard.

So I started calling my affirmations "demands" instead. It gives me more power and certainty over their truth. Regularly reciting my demands everyday has given me lots of energy and motivation to actively accomplish my goals.

Do use affirmations? Do they motivate you?

Until now, I mainly affirm things when I'm in a good mood, and thus it does motivate me.

But I've never actually tried using them everyday, I'll start tomorrow ^^

I guess it's like the mantras, I mean :: affirming something over and over again, the main goal being getting the subconscious mind to accept it,

Thats an interesting thought - using affirmations only when you're in a good mood. Helps keep them more positive.

That's absolutely true...the end goal is about having the subconscious mind accept and act on your intention. Affirmations & mantra meditation are simply the means to that end.

Out of all of them, I think visualization has the most effect on me, because it seems the most real.

What works best for you?

Well, affirmations work best in fact ^^

Although I've seen The Secret many times and read about visualization a lot, I can't always "generate the feelings" - wich is an important part of it - and therefore I don't use it very much :/

The last times I "really" used affirmations was November 2007. I really wanted a job (any job), cause I couldn't stand sitting all day in front of my computer, doing nothing. Each time I met a good friend of mine, I told him how bad I wanted to start working on Saturday (here the week begins on Saturday).

We were on Monday if I remember well.
Later on that day, I met another friend, and she told me about her job, and that they were looking for more tele-operators.
The next day, I went there to chek it out, they called me back on Tuesday, and on Friday I began the 3 days formation

I started working next Monday.
I forgot all about my affirmations, until my friend reminded me :: "Come to think of it, you wanted to stard on Saturday, you started 2 days later."

So, yes, affirmations work for me =)

Yes, I love affirmations! I've been using affirmations for years. I use to put them on post-it notes and place them all around my apartment. Then I graduated to making them on the computer with nice borders around them. Now it's natural for me. I make them up so quickly and they come to me throughout my day. I use them to help get me out of a bad feeling or situation. I hardly ever write them down for myself now. I make them up to help and encourage others.
